1. Overview and Core Philosophy
Gastos Ko: Budget Tracker ("Gastos Ko", "we", "us", or "our", Android package com.monsterhammer.gastosko) is designed from the ground up as a local-first, offline-first personal finance application.
We firmly believe that your financial information is private, sensitive, and strictly yours. Gastos Ko does not require an account, does not harvest personal details, and does not operate any centralized servers to store, collect, analyze, or monetize your financial ledger.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Gastos Ko does not collect, store, transmit, or share your personal financial data:
- No Financial Data Harvesting: Your accounts, balances, income, expenses, transfers, budgets, debts, savings goals, transaction history, categories, and tags never leave your device.
- No Account Registration: You are never asked to provide an email address, phone number, password, or profile information to use the app.
- No Analytics or Trackers: We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics trackers, or user-profiling telemetry SDKs.
- No Server Sync: All database operations execute strictly against your device's local SQLite database (
gastos_ko.db).
3. On-Device Features & Processing
A. Local Voice Transcription
Voice expense inputs are processed locally on your device's hardware using on-device speech recognition. Audio recorded during voice entry is transcribed locally and is discarded immediately after transcription. Your voice recordings are never uploaded or transmitted over the internet.
B. On-Device Financial Intelligence (Gastos AI)
On-device financial queries, budgeting summaries, and local calculations run strictly on your device using deterministic finance engines or sandboxed local models. No prompts, queries, or financial figures are sent to cloud AI services.
C. On-Device Receipt Scanning
Receipt photos taken with the camera or selected from your gallery remain in your app's local sandboxed storage. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device.
4. Device Permissions
Gastos Ko requests only permissions strictly necessary for its features:
- Microphone (
RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively when you tap the microphone button to dictate an expense. Audio is discarded immediately after local transcription. - Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used only to deliver scheduled reminders for upcoming bills and recurring transactions configured by you. - Boot Completed (
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used to reschedule your configured bill reminders after your device restarts. - Biometric / Screen Lock (
USE_BIOMETRIC): Used to authenticate you locally via your device's fingerprint, face unlock, or PIN if you enable the optional App Lock. - Network Access (
INTERNET): Used only if you choose to download an optional on-device AI model file or check for updates. Financial records, receipts, and personal data are never transmitted.
5. Google Play Billing
The app offers optional Google Play subscriptions and one-time Lifetime unlocks through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment transactions; the app does not receive or store credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or billing addresses. Subscription entitlements are verified and cached locally.
6. Data Ownership, Backups & Deletion
- Local Storage: All financial data is stored inside your device's secure application sandbox.
- User-Controlled Backups: You may export unencrypted JSON backups or password-encrypted
.gastosbackups at any time. Backup files remain in your personal storage and are never uploaded by the app. - Complete Data Reset: You can permanently erase all accounts, transactions, and categories at any time via More > Data & privacy > Reset all financial data.
- Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application automatically deletes all local SQLite databases and application files from your device.
7. Children's Privacy
Gastos Ko does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
